Victorina Stelenes

These real butterfly earrings have a style all their own. The unique shapes contain an interesting pattern of charcoal black that outlines semitransparent windows within each wings. This unusual species name is Victorina Stelenes and it is a member of the Nymphalidae family that can be found natively in Central and South America. I have skillfully encased these butterfly wings in several layers of hand painted resin by following their flowing form to create a very natural appeal. The resin that I use is clear so what you see are the natural colors of the butterfly. This resin does transmute the colors slightly as it turns the wings semi-transparent giving them an appearance very much like stained glass. Very light weight to wear, each of these wings measure approximately 1 7/8 inches in length and are suspended by hypo-allergenic earwire. With a presence like no other, these real butterfly earrings are truly uncommon beauties.
