Victorina Stelenes

$25.00Price
This real butterfly necklace has a style all its own. Its unique shape contains an interesting pattern of charcoal black that outlines semitransparent windows within its wings. This unusual species name is Victorina Stelenes and it is a member of the Nymphalidae family that can be found natively in Central and South America. I have preserved this butterfly by encasing it in several layers of hand painted resin, following its flowing form to create a very natural appeal. The resin that I use is clear so what you see are the natural colors of the butterfly. Though the resin does transmute the colors somewhat as it turns the butterfly semi-transparent producing an effect much like stained glass. The wing span of this curious beauty is 3 5/8", making for an eye catching statement. This pendant comes on an 18" 1.5mm black leather cord with a small chain extension and an easy to use lobster clasp. With a presence like no other, this real butterfly necklace is truly an uncommon beauty.
