Phoebis Argante
$25.00Price
This brightly colored real butterfly necklace is really quite charming. Its spectacular wings are a vivid yellow that is speckled with subtle hints of light brown. This splendid species name is Phoebis Argante but it is generally referred to as a "Sulphur". It is a member of the Pieridae family which can be found throughout North and South America. With a delicate hand, I have encased this butterfly in several layers of hand painted resin, following its flowing form to create a very natural appearance. The resin that I use is clear so what you see are the natural colors of the butterfly. Though the resin does transmute the colors slightly as it turns the wings semi-transparent giving it an appeal very much like stained glass. The wing span of this colorful beauty is only 2 3/4", making for gentle statement. This lovely pendant comes on an 18" 1.5mm black leather cord with a small chain extension and an easy to use lobster clasp. Simply elegant, this butterfly seems to have a peaceful grace about it.
