The abstract patterns of these butterfly wings surely make for an interesting pair of earrings. Set on a silky black background is a seemingly random array of vibrant yellow markings that are curiously attractive. This lovely species name is Thestylis though it is better known as the "Painted Jezebel". It is a member of the Pieridae family that is native to the areas surrounding Malaysia and India. With carefully craftsmanship, I have sandwiched these selections of wing between two pieces of hand cut glass. Then using copper foil they are held together while I skillfully finish with Lead Free Solder. Suspended by hypo-allergenic earwires, each earring measures 1/2" wide by 7/8" tall and they are remarkably light weight and fun to wear. I guarantee you, that with their naturally compelling beauty, these earrings will make for a couple of fascinating conversation starters.
