Orange Albatross

The eye catching color of these butterfly wing earrings offer quite a captivating presence. While it is the bright orange that dominates these wings there are faint black veins running throughout that give them subtle detail. This gentle species name is Appias Nero but it is better known as the "Orange Albatross". It is a member of the Pieridae family which can naturally be found primarily in Indonesia. With carefully craftsmanship, I have sandwiched these selections of wing between two pieces of hand cut glass. Then using copper foil they are held together while I skillfully finish with Lead Free Solder. Suspended by hypo-allergenic earwires, each earring measures 1/2" wide by 7/8" tall and they are remarkably light weight and fun to wear. Sure to garner you plenty of attention, you will delight in letting folks know they are real butterfly wings.
