Morpho Didius

$25.00Price
It is hard to believe that the iridescent quality of these butterfly wings can actually be found in nature. Their vivid blue coloring seems to shift and shimmer as the light plays across their surface. Although I have tried my best, anyone who has seen one of these butterflies in real life understands that photos will never do these prismatic beauties justice. This exquisite butterfly can be found natively throughout South America and its species name is Morpho Didius though it is far better known as the "Giant Blue Morpho". Carefully handcrafted, I have sandwiched these selections of wing between two pieces of hand cut glass. Then using copper foil they are held together while I skillfully finish with Lead Free Solder. Suspended by hypo-allergenic earwires, each earring measures 1/2" wide by 7/8" tall and they are remarkably light weight and fun to wear. Truly an outstanding pair of gems in my collection, I am sure that you will find these earrings absolutely stunning.
