Green Spotted Triangle

Green Spotted Triangle

The fascinating markings of this real butterfly necklace are really quite remarkable. Its somber black wings are highlighted by an interesting pattern of bright green spots throughout. This exotic species name is Graphium Agamemnon though it more commonly referred to as a "Green Spotted Triangle". It is a member of the Papilionidae family that can found natively in India through Southeast Asia and also in Australia. With a rather light touch, I have encased this butterfly in several layers of hand painted resin, following its gentle form to create a very natural appearance. The resin that I use is clear so what you see are the true colors of the butterfly. Though the resin does transmute the colors slightly as it turns the wings semi-transparent giving it an appeal very much like stained glass. The wing span of this curious butterfly is 3 1/2", making for a enticing presence. This pendant comes on an 18" 1.5mm black leather cord with a small chain extension and an easy to use lobster clasp. Genuinely striking, you will be sure to enjoy plenty of attention when you wear this real butterfly necklace.
