Glassy Blue Bottle

I am sure that you will find this real butterfly necklace to be quite exotic. Its wings offer a rather interesting pattern of soft black that features windows of translucent Coke bottle blue. This graceful beauty's name is Graphium Cloanthus although it is better known as a "Glassy Bluebottle". This specimen is a member of the Papilionidae family which can be natively found throughout Indonesia and also in Australia. I have preserved this butterfly in several layers of hand painted resin. The resin is clear so what you see are the natural colors of the butterfly. This resin also has a wonderful effect of turning the butterfly semi-translucent giving it an appearance much like stained glass. The wing span of this beautiful butterfly is 3 7/8", making for a bold and intriguing statement. This real butterfly pendant comes on an 18 inch 1.5mm black leather cord with a small chain extension and an easy to use lobster clasp.
