The remarkable patterns of this real butterfly necklace are really quite intriguing. Its wings offer bold markings that feature vibrant reds, golden yellows, deep blacks and tiny white dots. The reverse side is noteworthy too as it is simpler in design with a splash of brilliant red and a hint of dark blue on a strong black background. This curious specimens name is Callicore Cajetani, it is a member of the Nymphalidae family that is natively found in Peru. I have sandwiched the wings of this butterfly between two pieces of glass that I cut by hand. Then using copper foil I hold it all together so that I can finish with Lead Free Solder. This pendant measures 1 1/8" tall by 2 1/8" wide making for an unusual and interesting shape. It comes on an 18 inch 1.5mm black leather cord with a small chain extension and an easy to use lobster clasp. Compellingly beautiful, this butterfly necklace will be sure to bring you plenty of admirers.
